HO&C is a nonprofit corporation, a subsidiary of an award-winning housing authority: the Housing Opportunities Commission of Montgomery County, MD. It was the first housing authority in the nation to develop non-public housing.

Because we’re affiliated with a housing authority, we know the world of public/affordable housing very well. We have lots of experience working with local jurisdictions.

HO&C is engaged with its clients in projects totaling $1.03 billion consisting of 3,164 residential units, 627,000 square feet of retail, a four bay fire station, and 217,000 square feet of cultural arts space and 119,500 square feet of community space.

Our parent agency:
HOC is one of the largest public developers in its industry out of approximately 1,400 housing agencies nationwide. The agency has a $206 million annual budget; a mortgage finance company with $1 billion in bonds outstanding; and owns 6,765 rental units consisting of 1,554 public housing units of which nearly half are scattered site; 3,237 mixed-income units and 1,974 tax credit units.
